The Frolics are intimate revels with one fantastic band and an outstanding caller. The mini-weekend consists of 9 hours of contra dancing over two days, with wonderful dancers in a beautiful setting. New this year, we've added a Saturday morning English Country Dance option, and a free Musicians Masterclass. Winter Frolic 2025 is at St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church Community Center, 2716 N Dobson Rd, Chandler, AZ 85224. You'll find easy access with plenty of parking. The hall features a large wooden floor, a great stage, tables and chairs for sitting inside the hall, and covered areas outside for relaxing with friends between dances. The floor has some give, but is not sprung; shoes with some cushioning are recommended. You'll meet a vibrant mix of local and visiting dancers.
The Frolics go from 7:30–10:30 pm on Friday evening and again from 1:30–5:00 pm Saturday afternoon, and 7:30–10:30 pm on Saturday evening. You'll have plenty of time to fully experience the exceptional talent, meet with friends, brunch, or explore on Saturday, and sight-see or get back home on Sunday if you travel from out of town. There will be a 30-minute break during the dance on Saturday afternoon for a group photo. If you wish, you may come in your zaniest or finest dance duds for the picture.
